Your hosts at Outrigger House are Kristin (Chicki) and David (Bear). Our house represents everything we love about the beach, paddling and of course, living beside the incredible Jervis Bay.
Outrigger House is the ultimate retreat for paddlers, families, beach, water and nature lovers, Outrigger House brings the outside in with comfort and a chilled vibe. The most beautiful beaches in the world are at your doorstep. Fall asleep to the lullaby of the waves and awaken to the sweet songs of birds in the trees.
With large decks facing north and south, panoramic views of Jervis Bay greet you right from the lounge room, kitchen and bedroom. You can curl up on the cocoon chair and watch the sea eagles soar past at eye level, or have a king parrot eat seed from your hand. The house is 2 storey, with 4bedrooms and sleeps 8. The sea breeze sweeps through the open airy house, and you can hear the waves as you sleep. Everything is brand new, from paint, to quality furniture, linen and expensive Sealy mattresses for a brilliant sleep.
Outrigger House is the ideal holiday getaway for paddlers. Owned by dragonboat and outrigger paddlers, the house has secure boat storage with racks, a wash area and eye bolts to lock your craft down for the night.
Jervis Bay is a paddling tourist destination, there is always somewhere to go. We own outriggers and have paddled most of the bay, Honeymoon, Murray Beach, Callala Bay/Beach, Bowen Island, Summercloud Bay and even the hidden Boat Harbour only accessible by water and known to locals. You can be guaranteed sightings of marine and bird life on your paddles, dolphins, sharks, penguins, whales and even turtles are common sights on our paddles. We have compiled a book of paddling info and routes in all winds available for you at the house.
Outrigger House is filled with original art works by local artists; most notably Suzanne Chick (yep, it’s Chicki’s mum) whose paintings and prints of the local area are breathtaking. Most of these works are available for sale and a catalogue is available for you in the house.<
Some of the whitest sand in the world is merely a short walk away, and Booderee National Park beckons. In fact you can see the beaches of the National Park stretching around the Bay from the house. More information on beaches, hidden swimming spots, local walks, activities, tours and cruises is available through your hosts or local tourism websites.
